Blended Learning in Practice: Four District School Journeys

Blended Learning in Practice: Four District School Journeys

Carrie McPherson Douglass and Greg Klein wrote the  Blended Learning in Practice: Four District School Journeys case study in October 2012 to capture the journey of 4 traditional schools in in the Oakland Unified School District that pilot a blended learning program. This case study chronicles and reflects on the 10 months of planning, design and implementation work to bring the blended learning model to life at the schools.

The accompanying Oakland Unified School District Blended Learning Pilot Guide describes the overall pilot budget, size, demographics and timeline as well as the specific classroom designs, schedules and online content chosen by each of the four schools.

In January 2013, with 5 months of implementation under their belts, Carrie and Greg posted an update to the case study in which they continue to share their early successes, reflections and lessons learned.

Carrie and Greg welcome your feedback and questions, and look forward to continuing to share their journey.
