How To Clean And Sanitize A Hairbrush
We need to sanitize our hair brushes to remove dangerous particles that could cause hair and scalp damage. They can also hurt our general well-being. Here’s how to clean and sanitize a hairbrush.
- Boil water
- Remove all hair from your brush. It is called a hairbrush, but that doesn’t mean it should hold hair all the time. Remove hair after every use.
- Find a big bowl to put all your hairbrushes and combs. Make sure the bowl is large enough to contain all your combs. Totally submerge them in hot water and add detergent and vinegar.
- Depending on how long it’s been since your last wash, you may want to leave them to soak overnight or for a couple of hours.
- Next, rinse with running water to remove soap, germs, and dirt. Leave to dry under the sun before taking it back into your home.
Repeat this process every week, or more, if you use your hair brushes more frequently. If you’re a hairdresser, then you need to sanitize your hairbrushes and combs after every use. Have a sterilizer machine in your saloon to dip your combs and leave for at least 30 minutes or more, depending on the recommended duration by the manufacturer.
The last tip: use tea tree oil as a cheap but effective sanitizer solution. To use this solution, soak all your hairbrushes and combs in ¼ ounce of tea tree oil and warm water.
Always keep your hairbrush clean to prevent hair problems.
